A well-established, entrepreneurial tanker brokerage is seeking to hire an experienced Time Charter Tanker Broker or small team to join its platform in London or Athens.
The firm has a strong presence across tanker markets with particular depth in emerging trade flows, working closely with shipowners, oil majors, traders, and operators. The business offers a dynamic, non-bureaucratic environment with a clear focus on relationship-led, flow-driven chartering.
This hire is aimed at strengthening the firm’s time charter capabilities, complementing its existing spot presence.

  • Structure and negotiate period employment (short/medium/long-term TC deals)
  • Advise clients on fleet deployment strategies, coverage, and market timing
  • Provide forward-looking market insight, rate trends, and asset utilisation strategies
  • Work closely with spot desks to identify TC opportunities arising from market dislocation or arbitrage

  • Support and mentor junior brokers where applicable

Candidate Profile

  • 5-10 years’ experience in tanker broking with a clear focus on time chartering
  • Proven track record of TC fixtures and repeat business with key counterparties
  • Strong relationships with owners and/or charterers active in period markets

  • Commercially minded with the ability to originate ideas, not just execute flow
  • Comfortable operating in a lean, entrepreneurial platform

Team hire: Existing TC-focused team or portable book of business is highly attractive.

Why Join

  • Opportunity to build or scale a dedicated TC desk within an established brokerage
  • Strong existing market access across owners, traders, and operators

Compensation

  • Competitive base salary
  • Highly competitive commission structure, reflective of TC deal economics
  • Flexibility for individuals or teams with demonstrable revenue
